COMPANY OVERVIEW

Taurus leather group is a leading leather manufacture and exporter in southern India established in September 1986 and located in Ranipet Ranipet district. What started out in small way helped us build a frontier line, a strong manufacturing facility. Three generation later, the company branded into various fields specialisation including manufacture of finished leather, shoes and leather goods.

Our tannery specialise in manufacturing finished leather and leather products that cater to diverse needs of varied customers in terms of quality, feel, touch and so on…..

Taurus has grown to become the preferred partner and valued supplier of leathers also in international markets.

Though we have diversified processes to produce leathers in Cow, buff and sheep. our niche remains with leathers made in Baby calf and kips. With advances made, we have forayed with same as passion as done for calf and kips to make cow as another mainstay of our product range.

A FULL FLEDGED FACTORY - Taurus is one of the largest tanners and manufactures a premium leather quality. It is a family owned business that commenced operation in 1952. Three generation later, the company branched into various fields of specialization including manufacture of leather, shoes and leather goods.
What started out in a small way helped us build a frontier line, a strong manufacturing facilities in Ranipet. We have archived the learning to develop exports in mainly upper and lining leather in chrome, chrome free and veg from cow calf, kips, sides, sheep goat and buff

1952 – The company was founded with a very small warehouse in Periamet by M. Sambamdam with the trademark of SAMCO, initially he was trading raw hides.

1960- Started a own tannery in Ranipet processing Raw to vegetable tanned leathers from Cow calf, cow kips.

70’-80’ – developed the tannery to make finished leathers for men and women’s footwear. They also making specialized products for bags and accessories.

1986- The eldest son M.S Gunasekaran started his own company in the name of TAURUS LEATHERS specializing in cow calf both upper and lining leathers for exports. Mainly focusing for European and Asian markets.

1994- The group venture into high end brand and accessories.

2000- Our customers insistent to start some uppers and full shoes especially for women.

Taurus has total control over the management of its tanning and
dyeing stages. Our wet department is entirely manual and that
enables us to program and control on detail the undergoing of
each drum.

The section has total build up area of 25000 sq.ft with latest
technologies.

We have put in place crucial necessities such as effluent treatment plant, water harvesting, chemical substitution and pollution control processes.

We have ensured that our tannery doesn’t in anyway expose the local population to any health risks or hazards. We have a well- equipped production unit that is maintained in good hygenic condition. Our processes assure that the leather is supple, the finished product needs less processing and it proves pliable for all further types of manufacturing activities.

By sourcing raw material only from certified and trustworthy vendors and only against fixed approved parameters, we assure a smooth process of converting the raw material into the finest grade of leather possible. Support from the trained professional team coupled with cutting edge tools and technology help us to offer tailormade products to our clients. Cow and calf leather forms the core area of our organization.

Having been in the industry for over 4 decades, we have generated enough expertise to source from all over the world. we specialise in Indian and imported material and can stock in vast quantities for immediate processing based on orders received. At any point of time, we have enough stock to fulfil our capacity requirement, thus eliminating the usual necessity to procure wet blue. This makes it possible to delivery vary fast. Most of our customers give us a score above 90% in delivery performance.
